My name is Matt Pizzuti, a plant geek, writer and science enthusiast in Denver, Colorado with a particular interest in land use and how it affects biodiversity. I started this site in 2020 to combine my interests in horticulture and science writing, and promote smarter garden and landscape strategies that use less water, support local wildlife and allow people to think outside the box—in big and little ways—of what constitutes a garden. I also hope you’ll enjoy learning about how a well-tailored landscape can combine art and science in a beautiful way.
In 2021 I launched a landscape design and installation service, Botanish Landscape Design LLC, and I discuss some of my residential projects in the blog (with the homeowner’s permission!)
